Malaga, Spain..
Costa del Sol is situated on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Malaga is the capital city of this region. This town known to be a port in Andalucía, Southern Spain, is among major holiday resorts in the country. There are mountains and 2 rivers next to the town.
Malaga is the fifth largest province in Spain. A number of 6 million tourists add on top of 577,000 inhabitants each year in this beautiful city to meet the beautiful countryside wonderful architecture and entertainment especially at nights. You can find very nice seafood restaurants. Malaga is known to have most of the world-class golf courses scattered across the Costa del Sol or ‘Costa del Golf’.
Malaga is very special among other destinations in Spain as it is the birthplace of one of the ever popular painters who has lived on earth; Pablo Picasso. In fact, a museum was opened in 2003, and named after Picasso to award him the honor he had long deserved.
Tourists visiting this beautiful spot on earth not only enjoy the sandy beaches but they also have the opportunity of witnessing a very rich history. In fact, Malaga has already put in place its application to be announced “The European Capital of Culture” for the year 2016. Thus the city has been spending efforts to get organized culturally to achieve said target. Meanwhile, as a cultural step a center called Center for Contemporary Art has been founded in the town to help contribute to cultural community in the town and this is supposed to accelerate achieving the objectives towards winning the Capital of Culture title as well.
The town has 3 main touristic areas; Marques de Larios, Plaza de la Constitıtion and Calle de Granada. These are popular for shopping, and entertainment as well as cultural affairs.
