Dalyan is a peaceful holiday resort in Muğla’s Ortaca district in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. It is located on the canal connecting Koycegiz Lake to the Mediterranean Sea and known as one of the most beautiful places in Turkey with its unspoiled nature, clean sea and historical texture. Dalyan which lies between prominent resorts such as Fethiye and Marmaris serves as an oxygen depot, thanks to its evergreen forests.
In the winter months the population of Dalyan is about 5,000 people. In summers although it gets more crowded the village almost always manages to maintain its peaceful atmosphere.
Dalyan is surrounded by mountains and protected from the winds. The summers are hot and dry and winter months are warm and rainy. One can swim from April to November in Dalyan as the season opens quite early.
Dalyan is an old fishing village and although there are fertile agricultural lands, tourism has become the most important source of livelihood in the village.
Talking about tourism, Dalyan offers unique features such as Iztuzu Beach which is one of the most beautiful gifts of nature, the ancient city of Kaunos, famous for its tombs of tombs, healing waters, and mud baths. Obviously these are more than enough to meet one’s expectation for a beautiful holiday.
